"JPERL" -- Perl 4.036 for Win32 =============================== I did a web search and found links to two Win32 versions of Perl 4.036, both called "jperl," here: http://www.att.or.jp/perl/win/jperl.html njperl45.zip ------------ This one was built with Microsoft VC++, May 25 1996. 379,392 bytes. http://www.att.or.jp/perl/win/njperl45.lzh It is described as "jperl 4.036 for Win32(Intel CPU)." In addition to Larry Wall's copyright notice, the jperl.exe file also contains this notice: "Copyright (c) 1993, Intergraph Corporation." (I repacked and renamed the .lzh file into the njperl45.zip file) Note: the "perl432.exe" in tinyperl.zip is a copy of this jperl.exe. jperlw32.zip ------------ This one was built with Borland C++, November 14 1996. ftp://ftp.vector.co.jp/pack/win95/util/text/perl/jplwin32.lzh It is described as "jperl, version 4.036 + 1.4/2 Nov 14 1996." There are two builds included: jperl.exe (434,176 bytes) was compiled for Pentium processors, and jperl6.exe (446,464 bytes) was compiled with Pentium-Pro optimizations enabled. This one seems to have originated with an MS-DOS version; in addition to Larry Wall's copyright notice and the Borland RTL copyright, the jperl.exe and jperl6.exe files also contain this copyright notice: "MS-DOS port Copyright (c) 1989, 1990, Diomidis Spinellis." The archive also includes source code. (I repacked and renamed the .lzh file into the jperlw32.zip file) -Dave Burton 11/7/2001 dave@burtonsys.com Tel: 1-919-481-0149
